OUR GOAL

Millions of people around the world claim the name of Christ or claim to be christian. This site is for Christians to come together as one in the body of Christ. Some of us may have differences in are faiths or denominations the goal here at Christ First is to get people to read the scriptures for answers about the things God has made clear in his word and and learn not to listen to out side sources that may not match Gods word. We ask that you be respectful of other peoples point of views and enjoy this site. Take it as an opportunity to fellowship, grow and maybe even witness to others in and out of the faith. Have fun!!!
Fellow followers of Christ the time to spread the gospel is now. Let's encourage our brothers and sisters to speak up and keep strong in the faith.
Two weeks ago a few people from our bible study went out to witness at our local Walmart. Who would have thought that people would be so receptive to God's word? It's crazy how many people are familiar with the bible; I guess knowledge only gets you so far. As Christians we must realize that knowledge isn't what saves; Jesus saves and we must show the world exactly why they need him. My husband uses the analogy of the sick man. If you approach a man and offers him a cure to a disease without explaining to the man he has the disease, he's going to think you're crazy and wasting his time. Now, what if you approached him and explained that he was internally sick with a disease that would kill him in a short amount of time and that you wanted to give him the cure with no cost. He would accept it with no second thought and thank you for giving him such a gift. In this analogy, the disease is sin and the cure is the Almighty Jesus Christ. We need to show people how sick they are and just how easy it is to get the cure. Jesus himself said go and make disciples of all the nations, so we must go and make men of Christ for Christ.

  1. Jesus Christ is Lord! Rather than "show people how sick they are", a person will generally reach that point on their own. That is when they may be receptive to the gospel. However, i would recommend for us to speak when led by the Spirit of God to speak, and be silent otherwise, allowing our very lives to bear witness to the good news. It is when a person sick, and aware of it, sees our peace at work, or our love and joy always, that they will strike up conversation; and we then speak Jesus Christ to them, taking advantage of the oppurtunity that the Lord made. I don't make my own oppurtunities in life, anymore. What i do, is walk like Jesus Christ, consistently; and my life becomes outreach. As we operate as the church, together, doing what the Bible truly says for the church to do(gathering together personally, having all things in common, being humble to the word of God, and confessing our faults one to another, etc.), then what happens is the world/sick know us by our love for one another. And like a moth or beetle to a flame, they will come to us, asking for something. It is then that we will give them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Meanwhile, it is important that we are out amongst the sick, being slow to speak, but bearing the fruit of the Spirit. With all the god intentions in the world, your ministry is not effective, if it is accomplished your way. The scripture says, He that winneth souls, is wise. Let us use Godly wisdom, and operate as the body of Christ, rejecting the longheld "christian" traditions of men.
