Some of us may have differences in are faiths or denominations the goal here at Christ First is to get people to read the scriptures for answers about the things God has made clear in his word and and learn not to listen to out side sources that may not match Gods word. We ask that you be respectful of other peoples point of views and enjoy this site. Take it as an opportunity to fellowship, grow and maybe even witness to others in and out of the faith. Have fun!!!
Fellow followers of Christ the time to spread the gospel is now. Let's encourage our brothers and sisters to speak up and keep strong in the faith.

1) ADMIT YOU'RE A SINNER.
"For all have sinned and falling short of the glory of god" Romans 3:23

2) SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT CHRIST IS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
"for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16

3) CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD
"That if you confess with your mouth the lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" Romans 10:9-11

  1. Also God has to convert the heart and it is evident when you see true biblical repentance a love for the things of God you at one point in time despised or hated and a desire for God to be closer to him and you start to hate the sin you once loved and you strive to stay under God's love and grace and out of sin. you have a new desire to get rid of any and all sin in your life and you start to be honest with God about things in your life instead of lying and justifying the sin you seek Christ for deliverence and a Christ like heart. People we must repent and live for Jesus its not just saying some prayer like its a nursery rhyme that takes away all your troubles the words are not magic. its the desire in the heart to serve God and live for him forsaking sin and that is only possible with the help of God so we all must call on Jesus name and seek him daily its not just a one time life decision. its a daily walk we must follow Christ daily.

  2. I agree...repentance is a neccesity in the process of being saved...the bible states that one has to repent. Having faith(believing)is the first step to salvation, however, there are many people who beleive and have confessed with their mouth but yet havent recieved the gift of the holy gohst. Baptism is an important act too. Jesus siad do it, and he himself was baptized and he had no sin... that is a clear example there that it should be done. All throughout the book of acts people were being baptized. Even the people who were baptized previously were rebaptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38- Then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall recieve the gift of te holy gohst. I think the process to be saved is Faith(believing)>repentance>water baptism>infilling of the holy spirit. The holy spirit is our comforter and will guide us through our christain walk. One can believe, but if he is not filled with the gift of the holy gohst it will be impossible for him to live holy. Our flesh cant do it...God dwelling in us has to.

  3. I have to strongly disagree with the last comment baptism is important but not at all does it mean weather or not you are saved and anyone spreading the false truth needs to read more.first the bible states over and over it is faith in Christ not works see eph 2:8,9 also people can receive the holy spirit with out baptism they received the holy spirit before being baptized see acts10:44-47 and finally read Luke 23:43 this is the cross scene and I quote our lord and say "Assuredly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." (The thief on the cross next to Jesus) Now he just started his walk with Christ moments before death also there was no chance for baptism. The apostle paul said"believe in the lord Jesus, and be saved" in the verse you quoted peter was not saying being baptized gives you the holy spirit it was more of a symbolic declaration the same as when you get married if you don't have a ring that does not mean you do not love your wife or that you are not married in the eyes of god.

  4. In reference to the thief on the cross, Jesus was not yet glorified; therefore, the thief was saved based off of the words of Christ alone and his belief. However, today we all must be saved the way the Bible states to be saved. Acts is a book of history; therefore, when the Holy Spirit fell on the 120 in the upper room the bystanders thought that they were drunk w/ new wine. But Peter stood and proclaimed that what was taken place was prophesied by the prophet Joel they were pricked in their hearts and asked what shall they do, in reference to what shall they do to be saved. That is why the foundation of the church is built on Acts 2:38. Repent, being baptized in Jesus name, and being filled with the Holy Ghost. The entirety of the Bible is written only to the true believers which are those who have repented, been baptized, and filled with Holy Spirit. The only thing for the sinner man to do is apply Acts 2:38 to their lives and continue to get guidance from a true believer. The Holy Spirit is needed. It is not a good conscience. It is actually the indwelling of God's Spirit in you. Everyone in the Bible was filled with the Holy Ghost, so why would it stop now? It hasn't. The evidence of having the Holy Ghost is the initial speaking in tongues. Yes, you can recieve the Holy Spirit without baptism; however, you must be baptized. Mark 16:16 states that He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. You have to believe in order to repent, be baptized, and filled with the Holy Ghost. Belief is the first step. Without belief you might as well leave Christ alone. The Devils in Hell believe that in God that does not mean that they are going to be given a second chance. It was not symbolic, it is actuality. I know because I remember when I got filled and it is a big difference. Everything that was written by Paul was to the church, meaning that they were already filled, baptized, and repented. However, a lot of them began to fall short so Paul went back to the churches to put them back on the straight and narrow. This thing is deeper than what a lot of people may realize. Our nations have become seduced with false doctrines believeing that it is right. Christ spoke of these things to come, I pray that all who enter this website will find truth. Acts 2:38 is the foundation of the church.

  5. We are baptized into Jesus's death not into water.Romans 6:3 clearly says know you not that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death. Also 1 Corinthians 1:17 says for Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel. Not to go against baptism but alot of christians make it a law, which is not true christianity.

  6. 7. 1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
(ESV) Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
(NIV) and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
(NLT) And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from[a] a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
(AMP) And baptism, which is a figure [of their deliverance], does now also save you [from inward questionings and fears], not by the removing of outward body filth [bathing], but by [providing you with] the answer of a good and clear conscience (inward cleanness and peace) before God [because you are demonstrating what you believe to be yours] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 1:23 (NKJV) Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Isaiah 11:2 (NKJV) The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD –
John 16:13 (NKJV) However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
1 Corinthians 2:10 (KJV) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Proverbs 2:3-6 (KJV) Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 4:7 (AMP) The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).
    Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
Act 17:11 (ESV) Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

  8. I know that everyone does not believe the same thing as far as religion. The only thing that I can do is put truth out there. I pray that this will begin to deal with each and everyone that I send this to, no matter what religious background you are from. There is only one right way to enter into the kingdom of God. I have experienced this for myself and I am a living witness that receiving the Holy Spirit does change things in your life. I have a long way to go; however, I'm far from where I used to be.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
The book of Acts is a book of history; therefore, we use the scripture Acts 2:38 as the foundation of the church. This was the first cry from mankind asking what shall they do in order to be saved and Peter, whom Christ gave the keys to the kingdom (Matthew 16:18), answered with Acts 2:37-41.
We must all Repent sincerely, be baptized in the name of Jesus, (not titles which are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Repentance is inward change of mind that has an outward change of direction. With repentance comes restitution, we must repair what we have broken with everyone if we are able to. (Luke 19:8, Acts 24:16, Romans 6:6, Proverbs 28:13)
Belief proceeds repentance, but is not the only step in salvation. If there is no belief the other steps will not take effect in our lives. So, do you have to believe, of course! Salvation is a process, this doesn't just happen over night. ("But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." Matthew 24:13)
Baptism, in the name of Jesus only! (Not in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost...scripture doesn't teach us that) Matthew 28:19 reads, "Go ye therefore , and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" He spoke these words unto the twelve disciples and when they baptized men, they did it only in Jesus' name. Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men , whereby we must be saved." (Galatians 3:27) For those who are baptizing in the titles, they are dead wrong! And there are no scriptures that will qualify that!
Baptism of the Holy Ghost, yes we all need to receive the Holy Ghost. This does not take place at the moment when you decide to give your life to God, for everyone. Just because you believe does not mean that you have the Holy Ghost. Until our hearts are open totally, then we will be able to receive the Holy Spirit. Do you accept a gift without knowing that you have it? No, no one does. There is an automatic reaction when everyone receives a gift. It is the same thing with the Holy Spirit. You will know once you have the Holy Spirit because you will speak with tongues. This is the initial evidence that Jesus' Spirit is living on the inside of you. Acts 2:38, was the first recorded act of this taking place. Ten years after Pentecost, it was recorded again in Acts 10:44-46, 25 years later it was recorded again in Acts 19:6. There is no place in the Bible that says once you believe you have the Holy Ghost, there are not any scriptures that speak of such thing! However, scripture teaches that everyone who was filled spoke in tongues initially. John 15:26 reads, "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me." Scripture is telling us that when the Holy Spirit comes in, that He will testify of Christ. Testify means to speak in lament terminology. Now, for those who say that they have the Holy Ghost when was the last time that you spoke in tongues, or have you ever spoke in tongues? If you say that you have the Holy Spirit, then we all should be on the same page. (Try the Spirit by the Spirit 1 John 4:1) This is extremely deeper than what most realize. (1 Corinth 14:2, 2:13-14)

  9. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE start reading your bible the last comment made is full of error first off to say that there is some type of path you gotta take to get to heaven you are dead wrong it is faith alone in Christ alone that saves anyone. Also and you got it all twisted because you use verses to make what you personal want the bible to say come true and you probably got everything you know passed on to you by someone (no offense). If you read the scriptures for your self then you would find that Jesus is the name that saves but baptism as nothing to do with you going to heaven as you implied. Also we are all one body of Christ but that does not mean that we will all speak in tongues as you also implied the bible states this in the same book you try to quote to make your point. Read all the verses surrounding the verse you try to prove your point from. Finally 1corinthians 12:1-14 should clear it all up for you and I quote Paul when I write "Now concerning spiritual gift(including tongues),brethren,I do not want you to be ignorant:You know that you were gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the spirit of god calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is lord except by the holy spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit There are differences of ministries, but the same lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same god who works all in all. but the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same spirit, to another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same spirit,to another the work of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another other the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills". I really hope people start to read there bibles and stop trying to correct others before the correct them self. This message is meant and writing in love we are all one body of Christ so do your part for the lord don't say if you have never spoke in tongues you are not saved cause that is false. But don't take my word for it cause its in gods word the bible.

  10. Wow...it has been a while since i've made my way accross this website, and it is very interesting to hear different people's point of view. But let me start by saying this...let noone be self-righteous about any of our opinions and facts, lol. The true fact is that there is only ONE way! Repentance identifies us w/ the death of Christ, baptism identifies us w/ His burial, and recieving the holy spirit identifies us w/ His resurrection. So check it out...Jesus' death, burial and resurrection are applied to our lives when we experience New Testament salvation: Repent(death to sin) and be baptized(burial) everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall recieve the gift of the holy ghost(resurrection). Not only does Acts 2:38 support this, but Romans 6:1-7 as well. It's funny how people always bring up the fact that the theif on the cross was not baptized, but do keep in mind that it happened before Jesus died and rose...baptism did'nt come about until after Christ had risen...think about it! And the scripture that was brought up(1 Corinthians 1:17) does'nt support why we should not be baptized, it just states that Paul(I think he wrote corinthians) was not sent to baptize...I can say "for Christ sent me not to baptize" too, lol...thats because its not my job, but that does'nt necessarily mean that it should'nt have to be done. Once we are baptized, we are buried with Christ and we take upon His name...thats if you are baptized in Jesus name like we are supposed to be. The apostles understood that Jesus was the name to use at baptism, and from the day that the church of God was established(the day of pentecost) until the end of thier ministry, they baptized all nations in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, Jesus is the only name given for our salvation(Acts 4:12). I agree with you anonymous...you pretty much sumed it up in a nut shell. As far as the infilling of the holy ghost...this spiritual baptism is necessary to be put in the kingdom of God and is evidenced by speaking in other tounges as the spirit of God gives utterance. Let me explain that the speaking in tounges when one recieves the holy ghost is quite different form the spiritual gift of tounge interpretation/diverse tounges. When one is filled with the holy ghost, it is a heavenly language and communication with God that does NOT need to be interpreted. Its an unexplainable feeling that one will have to experience for themselves. Whoever is reading this who has not experienced the baptism of the holy spirit, continue to seek for it, and I pray you be filled! The holy ghost is real!!! And we must have it! There is a distinct difference between believing in God and being filled with His spirit(holy ghost). Until next time...be blessed everyone

  11. I have to disagree with erica about what it means to repent... repentance means turning from the sin you onced embraced and that can only be done through trust in Christ Jesus and him alone. many people have been baptized and still are not saved they will go o hell with a prayer on they lips a bible in they hand and a water baptism that does nothing but symbolize death to the old you and nw life in Christ Jesus. Also erica you are wrong that baptism didn't happen until after Jesus. You might want to read your bible more John the BAPTIST was baptizing before Jesus came and right up until he actually did come check it read the gospel of John. All the disciples were baptized before Jesus even promised the holy spirit would come. The disciples were not waiting to be saved they were waiting for the holy spirit that Jesus promised them. All the disciples were saved before that because Jesus told them I have chosen all of you and they were all good except one which was a devil (JUDAS)John 13:18-19. Acts 1:4-5. The disciples were saved already. John 3:5-7 Jesus is talking about those who are born in the flesh must also be born of the spirit (Born again) not water baptism. All I am saying is salvation is through placing your trust in Christ alone and not in thinking because you speaking gibberish that you saved. Some people have the gift of speaking in toungues but all do not. 1corinthians 14:1-33 read it all!!! Also please read 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 in other words we all have recieved different gifts fronm the holy spirit and all do not speak in tongues which means that the majority of people you may kow who claim to be speaking in tongues may not be but simply following what they see other people doing and because they believe that is proof that they are saved they are simply following pastor or bishops instructions and not Jesus. Matthew 7:21-23 God is able to save you when you are praying in your room. So you mean to tell me if I call on Jesus name on my bed and i am truly sincerly repenting of my sins I cant be saved unless hey drag me out and baptize me? And also many aposotlics believe you can lose your salvation but I disagree because if thats true how many sins do you have to commit to lose your salvation? and what sins specifically cause you to lose it?

  12. Hello Justin,

I know what repentence is...it is being sincerly sorry and turning away from sin, thats what I said (death to sin). Jesus died on the cross for our sins that we might have a chance to repent...so that's why I indentify our repentence w/the death of Christ. My brain was working a little to fast, but you are right John the baptist was baptizing when Jesus walked the earth, that's what he was instructed to do. Jesus himself was baptized as well. I was meaning to say the baptism of the holy ghost did'nt come about until after Jesus died and rose. *By all means you can recieve the holy ghost by calling on Jesus in you room...ABSOLUTELY! But since baptism is part of the salvation process, I think it should still be done. I would never judge anyone to say they wont go to heaven if they are not baptized, but I think it has to be of some importance if Jesus said do it. I have read 1 corinthians 14, and I do understand the spiritual gift of tounges and how it should be used. It does need to be in order for the edifying of the church. But the speaking in tounges when one recieves the holy ghost is the initially evidence. Speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance is the manifestation that God has given as the definite, supernatural witness or sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6). It was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 28:11-12), and foretold by Jesus as a sign that would follow believers of the gospel (Mark 16:17), and experience by Jews and Gentiles alike. The gift of "divers kinds of tongues," mentioned in I Corinthians 12:1-12 and also I Corinthians 14:1-40, is given both for self-edification (I Corinthians 14:4) and for the edification of the church (I Corinthians 14:27-28). In church meetings the gift of tongues is used to give a public message, and it is to be interpreted. Since this gift can be misused in public, it needs proper regulation (I Corinthians 14:23-28). Not all believers exercise the gift of tongues, which is different in function from tongues given by God as the initial witness of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. As far as loosing your salvation...God will not pluck you out of His hand...that is why we have grace(praise Jesus). I do not believe that one can loose their salvation, as long as I want to follow Christ I am eternally secure, but If I change my mind and dont want anything to do with Him, He will allow me to leave because I still have free will. This is not to say that sin can take your salvation away, but if you sin and refuse to confess it and repair your relationship w/ God, then you are more likely to sin again and again and eventually drift away. I'm not saying that if we sin God blots our names out of the book of life, but I am saying that if we reject Christ and walk away than we have basically given our salvation back. The bible says He who stands firm will be saved. Also Exekiel 18:24 says "but when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which has has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die." I have no fear of loosing my salvation, but I have the choice to give it back. We must gaurd our faith and our love for Christ, as long as we do this we are eternally secure, but that does not mean we can do anything or live anyway we choose, we must stand firm and continue in our faith. I hope that answers your questions. What is your opionion on loosing salvation?

  13. There are a lot that preach that the holy ghost is recieved automatically the moment you believe, but that is false, not everyone recieves the holy ghost the moment they believe. Example in Acts 19 testifies to that. Paul said unto certain disciples, "Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. All throughout the entire books of Acts, it speaks of people recieving the gift of the holy ghost w/ the evidence of speaking in tounges. I can only speak from my own experience. I am filled with the gift of the holy ghost w/ the intially evidence of speaking in tounges as the spirit of God gave me utterance. The holy ghost is real! It will keep you, comfort you, sustain you, convict you and much more. So my question to anyone who may be reading this, have you recieved the holy ghost since you believed??? If not, I pray that you be filled! But ye shall recieve power after the holy ghost has come upon you.(Acts 1:8). Be Blessed!

  14. first everyone that was called a disciples was not a disciples of jesus because even John the baptise had disciples before jesus even started his ministry with his disciples.see John 1:35-37 you will see 2 of John's disciples would leave john and follow jesus and become the first disiples of jesus. Also note john still had disciples after this and they did not see clearly.(see john 3:25. John understood and John diciples didnt fully understand nor have the holyspirt because they had not even heard the gospel they had only been disciples of john the baptist see Acts 19. So to sum up all the confusion baptisim does not save nor give the holyspirt faith does that and the bible backs that up eph 2:8-9 and also acts 9 only further discredits your idealogy because the people that had not even heard of the holy spirit were the ones who had been baptized by water and if we recieved the holy spirit upon baptism by water then they would have known the holy spirit upon coming out of the water but since they did not it is clear they were misinformed and didnt really understand what they were doing. now we know that the holyspirit had not come to live in people until after Christ went back to the father but the holy spirit has exsisted since before time began. He was here from the beginning. How else would david have been able to write scriptures predicting what would happen to Jesus and prophesy was being proclaimed in psalms through the holy spirit David even said take not the holy spirit from me. If the holy spirit was only recieved through water baptism then what saved david and the other believers in the old testament? Did God change his standard of salvation? Or was it the same thing that saves us today is what saved David and all the old testament believers FAITH in the one and only true messiah JESUS CHRIST. does the bible say we are saved by grace through faith upon water baptism? Or does it proclaim we are saved by grace through faith and not of works less any man should boast? Also acts 10:43-47 the same book you use to validate your points is also the book that will help you see what I am saying and I quote peter the same person speaking in act 2:38 when I say "To Him (jesus) give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever beleive in him shall recive remission of sins. While peter still speaking to them, the holyspirt fell on all that heard the word. And hem of the circumcision(jews) which believed were astonished, as many as came with peter, because the gift of the holyspirit was also poured on the gentiles as well. For the heard them speaking in tongues and magnify God.Then peter answered saying and anyone forbid them water, that these should not be baptized who have recived the holy spirt just as we have. And commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord." Now notice they recived the holyspirit before baptisim and peter also states believe in his name(JESUS) and recive remission of sins. PLEASE PEOPLE LOOK DEEPER SO THAT WE WON'T FALL FOR ANYTHING!!!! THIS IN LOVE SO WE CAN BE ON ONE ACCORD IN CHRIST.

  15. Of course it's out of love. But everyone is going to have their own view points about certain things. I can only speak from my own experience and put the word out about salvation the way the bible says to have it. By no means am I saying the holy ghost comes the moment you are baptized in water ...thats where your interpretetion about what I'm saying is wrong. It doesnt happen that way for all. And yes a person can be filled with the gift of the holy ghost before being baptized....there are many people who do. But because baptism is apart of the salvation process, I think it should be done. Faith will not fill you with the holy spirit. Satan believes(has faith), and do you think he has the holy ghost...defenitly not! As I said before, I pray that all will be filled...you will know when you recieve it. Be Blessed!!!

  16. I would like to start by saying I think it is cool everyone has different experiences but we can;t just take peoples word for it thats why we have a bible thats is the inspired word of god.So thats where im am going to go for anything I wanna know or what to tell anyone else about god and things he has already cleared up in his word.1st the way the bible says we get saved is the exact thing you don't believe in eph 2:8-9 in the bible says we are saved by grace through faith and not of your selves; it is a gift of god not of works, lest any man should boast. Read the whole bible please not just a few books baptism is a work it does not save you faith in christ only. Also faith and trust in christ is not the same as the devil believing in the lord he is the devil and opposes christ if you don't believe the bible as a whole why believe in it at all it is all his word john 3:16 for god so love the word that He (god) gave his only begotten son(jesus) so that whoever sell believe in Him(jesus) shall not perish but have ever lasting life.Notice baptism was not mentioned anywhere.Lastly if you are not able to be baptized what do you do go to hell what if youre in jail or on your death bed or even in the hospital paralyzed really think about it and read Galatians it will help

  17. As far a person not being able to be baptized, that is something I cant answer. I dont think that God will hold that against them depending on their situation, but I cant say only God can. As far as the people who are able to get baptized and choose not too, that is another story, but hey I'm not in the position to judge that either. I guess we will just have to see when we get to the gates of heaven. lol I'm prepared! So what do you think about loosing your salvation?

  18. Brothers and Sisters, i speak to you in love , yet boldly. First, we must all be humble to the word of God, meaning that each of our opinions can be wrong; and we need to acknowledge that. There is no need to have any different doctrines taught amongst us, if we all will humble ourselves to the Word. The only thing we know to be true, is that which the Spirit of God reveals to us, personally. We cannot afford to lean on our own understanding even of scripture. With that in mind, we can have a trust for Brothers who come to us saying that they have received word from the Lord. However, a standard is raised: If someone speaks something untrue, which they claim they received from God, then we mark that man as untrustworthy and one who would blaspheme God! On the other hand, when a trusted Brother or Sister speaks a word from God, we stop what we're doing to eagerly hear it, heed it, and live by it! With such a trust and confidence in Christ, the body of Christ is edified. God's word tells us to be of one mind. It is by the Spirit of God bearing witness with our spirit that we know when we are Brothers, not by denomination or by whether one is called a Christian.
As to the matter at hand, Repentance is necessary; No one is truly saved by going underwater; You shall know the tree by it's fruit, not by whether it speaks in tongues; It is possible to get an "unexplainable feeling" at a rock concert, or with a drug, so that's not evidence of the Holy Ghost. No! We must hear what the Spirit of God says to the church, instead of what man says. And there are no magic words in a "sinner's prayer" that save somebody. Truly confessing Jesus Christ as Lord, means alot more than the people running this website may even know. Is your entire reason for living, to do whatever pleases God? Many Christians are committed to doing what God says to do; but Jesus Christ submitted entirely to His Father's will, not just His Father's requirement. Do you even know God's will?
Find out. Humble yourself, and then read His word without your own knowledge and understanding. Remember, a new creature doesn't know anything. Forget what you knew, and learn Christ.

  19. By no means is Acts 2:38 the foundation of the church. I believe that people do say so with good intentions; but it is a lie; and both their faith and knowledge, is lacking. In the book of Matthew 16:15-18, Peter said to Jesus Christ, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus Christ then said , "Blessed art thou Simon Barjona : for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee that thou art Peter, and upon this rock i will build my church ; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." My Brothers, let no man convince you of his own doctrine; not even if it's scriptural. The devil tempted Jesus Christ Himself with scriptural quotes. We must not dare teach our own Biblical doctrines. Jesus Christ pronounced that He brought not His own doctrine, but He brought His Father's doctrine. The word of God identifies the foundation of the church; and it is not Acts 2:38, although Acts 2:38 is true, because it is scripture .
